Ruth Bonham, having recd her Education among us the People called Quakers, did for some years attend our religious Meetings for the Worship of Allmighty God and was by us esteem'd a well inclin'd young Woman : but through unwatchfullness & not paying proper attention to the Impulsions of Truth on her mind, suffer'd her Affections to be gained by a young Man not of our Society, which was matter of great concern to us, on which account she was visited in Love and Endeavours were used to make her sensible of the dangers of proceeding in an affair of such Importance contrary to the advice of her Relations & Friends; notwithstanding which she was married by the Priest to the said young Man. Since which being diverse times visited thereupon; she not giving a satisfactory acknowledg..ment for such her out going & of late very much neglecting the attendance of our religious Meetings; We therefore find ourselves under a majority of Testifying against her; Thereby Declare her no Member of our Society; untill she give satisfaction by an unfeigned acknowledgment & condemnation of her conduct Which that she may be favoured with a due Sense of is our sincere Desire Signed in and on behalf of our Monthly Meeting held at Baldock 31st of the 7mo 1769 By Rudd Wheeler Clk
