In the Name of God Amen I Mary Loff otherwise Luff of Mayfield in the County of Sussex Widow Relict of Richard Loff otherwise Luff late of Mayfield aforesaid victualler deceased being of sound Mind and Memory (Praised be God) do this Seventeenth day of November in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Sixty Six make and publish my last Will and Testament touching the Disposition of that worldly Estate which God hath been pleased to bestow upon me as follows (that is to day) I give and bequeath unto my Friend John Hamlin of Buxted in the said County of Sussex Yeoman All my Goods Chattels Moneys and personal Estate whatsoever and wheresoever Upon this special Trust and Confidence that he do thereout pay and discharge my Funeral Expences [sic] and all such just Debts as I shall happen to owe at the Time of my death And in particular All such Sums of Money as I shall stand indebted to the said John Hamlin in by Bond or otherwise at the Time of my Death He having been so kind as to give me Credit and trust me for Goods I bought of him when I could not have it elsewhere And after Payment and Satisfaction of my said Debts and Funerals [sic] As to what shall remain Upon Trust that he pay to Richard Pankhurst al's Penticost my Servant Boy if he shall be living with me at the Time of my death One Guinea And that he pay and deliver All the remainder (if any) unto Cornelius Corke of Mayfield aforesaid Husbandman formerly a Servant to me to his own Use and Benefit forever And I appoint the said John Hamlin sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I have hereunto put my Hand and Seal the day and year first above written The Mark + and Seal of Mary Luff (LS) Signed Sealed published and declared by the Testatrix Mary Loff as and for her last Will and Testament in the Presence of us who in her Presence and in the Presence of each other have subscribed our Names as Witnesses thereto Saml Duplock Saml Watkins.
