This is the last Will and Testament of me Betheia Longley of Christopher Street Finsbury Square in the County of Middlesex widow which I make publish & declare in manner following that is to say first it is my will that in case of my decease happening in or near London that I should be buried in the same vault with my late dear husband but if my decease happens else where then at such place as my Executors hereinafter named shall in the discretion think fit I give & bequeath unto my daughters Harriet Maria Longley Mary Longley and Frances (the wife of Mr Irving Brock) the Residue which may remain after the deductions & payments herein after mentioned of the sum of one thousand pounds three pounds per rent reduced Bank annuities now standing in my name in the Books of the Governor & Company of the Bank of England and also of all such other sum & sums of Stock as may be standing in my name in the said Books at the time of my decease to be equally divided between my said three daughters share & share alike and I declare it to be my will that the share so bequeathed to my said Daughter Frances shall be paid & transferred to her for her separate use & wherewith her husband shall have no intermddling (?) nor shall the same be subject to his debts controul or engagements (?) in any way & her script alone shall be a good discharge for the same I give & bequeath to my said daughters Harriet Maria Longley & Mary Longley all that my Estate te?? & interest of and in the lease of the Premises I now occupy in Christopher Street aforesaid together with all & singular the Improvements fixtures & articles & things belonging & appertaining thereto To hold to them to & for their own absolute use & benefit & to be equally divided between them share & share alike I give to my said daughter Harriet Maria Longley my large diamond Ring I give to my said daughter Mary Longley the portrait of my late dear husband and also my gold [inserted:] ^chased watch & the gold^ chain Seals & Trinkets belonging thereto I give to my Son in law Irving Brock my small diamond Brilliant Ring I give unto my said daughter Frances his wife my Eye Glass set in gold & the Chain belonging thereto I give to my Sister Mrs Elizabeth Whittingham the sum of twenty pounds for mourning which sum together with the debts which may be owing by me at the time of my decease & the Expences of my funeral and of Rings to such of my friends as my Executors may think proper and also the Expences of proving my will it is my will shall be deducted & paid out of the said sum of one thousand pounds three pounds per rent reduced Bank Annunities or such other sum of Stock as may be standing in my name as aforesaid at the time of my decease previous to any division & transfer of the Residue of such Stock and I hereby direct & charge the same accordingly I also give & bequeath to my said daughters Harriet Maria Longley & Mary Longley all my Clothes linen & wearing Apparel of whatever description trinkets money & all the Rest & Residue of my Estate & Effects of what nature or kind soever to be equally divided betweeen them share & share alike and I appoint my said daughters Harriet Maria Longley & Mary Longley Exectutrixes of this my will In witness whereof I the said Betheia Longley have hereunto set my hand & seal the seventh day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & thirteen - Betheia Longley (S:S:) - Signed sealed published and declared by the Testatrix Betheia Longley as & for her last Will & Testament in the presence of us who in her presence & at her request & in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses thereto - Mary Ann Hexter - Thos Grosse St Mildreds Court Poultry To prevent any misunderstanding I think it proper to state that the Silver Tea pot & Stand used by me & also the two pencil Portraits & Frames of the Littlebury family are mine and I consider them as included in & forming part of the Residue of my Estate and bequeathed by my will dated the 7th instant which will I confirm in all respects dated the 7th of August 1813 August the 10th 1813 - Betheia Longley I do hereby revoke this legacy of twenty pounds for mourning by my will within written given to Mrs Elizabeth Whittingham witness my hand this twentieth day of april 1815 Betheia Longley /- I do hereby revoke this legacy of my small diamond brilliant Ring by my will within written given to my son in law Irving Brock having given him in my lifetime my silver chased snuff Box in lieu of my said Ring witness my hand this twentieth day of April 1815 - Betheia Longley / - 9th September 1816 Appeared personally Mary Ann Hoxter of Eaton College in the county of Bucks Spinster & John Sanderson of No 22 Broad Street Buildings London Esquire & being sworn on the holy Evangelists to depose the truth severally made oath as follows that they knew & were acquainted with Betheia Longley late of Christopher Street Finsbury Square London widow deceased for several years before & to the time of her death & with her manner & character of handwriting & subscription having often seen her write & write & subscribe her name and having now carefully viewed & perused (?) the paper writing hereto annexed purporting to be & contain three Codicills or Memorandums the first of which begins thus "To prevent any misunderstanding" ending thus "dated the 7th of August 1813 August the 10th 1813" & thus subscribed "Betheia Longley" the second of the said Codicils or Memorandums beginning thus "I do hereby revoke this legacy of twenty pounds for mourning by my will within written" ending thus "witness my hand this twentieth day of April 1815" and then subscribed "Betheia Langley" the third of the said Codicills or Memorandums beginning thus "I do hereby revoke this legacy of my small diamond brilliant Ring by my will within written" ending thus "witness my hand this twentieth day of April 1815 & thus subscribed "Betheia Langley" they these deponents do depose that they verily & in their consciences believe the whole series & contents of the said three Codicils or Memorandums beginning ending & subscribed as aforesaid to be all of the proper handwriting & subscription of the said deceased - Mary Ann Hexter - Jno Sanderston - Same day the said Mary Ann Hexter & John Saunderson were duly sworn to the truth of this Affidt Before me _ S.
