On which day appeared personally William Hand of the parish of Long Claxton in the County of Leicester aged above twenty two years and a Batchelour and alledged that he intends to Intermarry with Mary Garrot of the Parish of Denton in the County of Lincoln aged above twenty four years and a spinster not knowing or beleiveing any Let or Impediment by reason of any Precontract Consanguinity Affinity or any other Lawfull means whatsoever To hinder the said Intended Marriage Of the Truth of the premisses made Oath and Prayed a Lycence to Solemnize the said intended Marrige in the Parish Church of Ab Kettleby

In the Name of God Amen I John Garrat of Hose in the County of Leicester Weavour, do this Second day of September one thousand Seven hundred and fifty one; being in Sound Mind; Make and or dain this my Last ???y Will and Testament in Manner following Inprimis; I give to my Daugher [sic] Mary, Wife of Wm Hand the Sum of Eight pounds the Sum of Item I give to my Daughter philipea; Wife of John Williams; the Sum of One pound; Item I give to my Daughter Frances Garrat the Sum of Eight pounds; Item I give to my Daughter Sarah the Sum of Six pounds to be paid by my Exxec... when shee cometh to ye Age of One and Twenty years; Item I give to my Daughter Elizabeth Garrat ye Sum of Six pounds to be paid by my Exxecuto... when Shee cometh to the Age of one & twenty Years; I give and bequeath to my Son William Garrat; all the Residue and rest of My Estate real; and personal; and Make him Sole Excecutor of All My Goods Chattels & Cattle; and Lastly I revoke all formour wills made by me and acknowledge this to be my Last will and Testament; and my Son William Garrat as before Mentioned Sole Excecutor of this my Last Will and Testament he paying ... In the Name of God Amen I Robert Hand of Claxton otherwise Long Clawson in the County of Leicester yeoman being of Sound Mind Memory and Understanding praised be Almighty God for the same and considering the Uncertainty of this life and the certainty of Death doe Make and Ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following that is to Say In the first place I assign my Soul into the Hands of Almighty God my Creator who gave it me and my Body I committ to the Earth to be decently Buryed at the discretion of my Executrix hereinafter Named and as for such Temporal Estate as it hath pleased Almighty God to bestow upon me I Give Devise and bequeath of the same as follows that is to say First I Give and Devise All that my Messuage or Tenement and Homestead with the appratenances [sic] Situate standing lying and being within the Town of Claxton otherwise Long Clawson aforesaid unto my Dear and Loving wife Mary for and during the Term of her Natural life provided She pays Yearly and every year the Interest of Twenty Five pounds which I Owe on Mortgage of the same unto Zachary Brewster| and from and after her Decease then I Give and Devise the same unto my Son William Hand his heirs and assignes forever also I Give and bequeath unto my Son John Hand Two shillings and six pence also I Give and bequeath unt... my Son William Hand all my ?oor... and other Uten... which I make use of in my weaving Trade also I Give and bequeath unto my Daughter Mary Caunt Five shillings also all the rest of my Goods Chattles Cattle and personal Estate of what Nature of kind soever they be I Give and bequeath unto my Dear and Loving wife Mary whom I doe hereby appoint full and sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament hereby Revoking all former Wills and Testaments y me heretofore made declaring this to be my last Will and Testament In witness whereof I the said Robert Hand the Testator have to this my last Wil and Testament sett my Hand and Seal this Third day of October in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Forty Eight Rob?t Hand
